The confliction I feel when the seasons change

Confliction: A conflict so intense its like an affliction. I.E. I have a confliction about the change of seasons. I love summer; sun, beach, tank tops, flip flops. I also love fall fashion; new boots, cozy sweaters, chic jackets.  This conflict needed a name, so I made up a word to describe what I feel when summer turns to fall.

Living in the Northeast, summer elevates my spirit. February and March are brutal months and I’m probably not the nicest person, just ask my husband. My alcohol consumption goes up. I am sick of winter, sick of the cold, sick of my winter wardrobe.

When the weather starts to turn, so does my attitude. I don’t think I am alone in this feeling; anyone living in the northern hemisphere comes out of hibernation in the spring and summer. We live to tan our white skin, peep our painted toes of trendy summer sandals, have cocktails on decks and seek out any strip of sand near water and call it a beach.

So, imagine my chagrin that it’s July and I am already being bombarded with fall fashion previews.  I’ve only had two months to enjoy the summer so far! AGH!*SIGH*

OK, so bombarded is a relative term and since I am a fashion junkie, I’ll put complaining aside for a moment and share what I am excited for this fall;

New Fall Trends

So, as sad as I am to see summer being put by the way side in the fashion world, I am consoled by the fact that seasonal change brings SALES. Everything summer is on sale. It’s a nice distraction while the days become shorter and the temperatures becomes cooler.

Until next time…while its still here, I am going to sit in the sun, but I’ll bring my new InStyle with me.
